学部レベルの物理学、化学、統計力学、および基礎的な半導体材料のバンド描像、キャリア輸送(=これらはA1に開講する半導体デバイス材料工学Iの内容)の理解を前提として、先端CMOS,パワーデバイス、不揮発性メモリなどの先端デバイスの動作原理を理解するとともに、その新規材料の開発状況や材料設計、デバイスプロセスについて学ぶ。
