This course aims to introduce graduate students to classic and recent sociological studies relevant to ethnicity, nationalism, and education, and to critically examine their contributions and limitations. The topics covered in this course include: •theories of ethnicity and nationalism, •identity, culture, and migrants’ sense of belonging, •migrants’ educational and social trajectories and social integration, •critical race theory, and •whiteness in education. In Week 1, the course structure and learning goals will be explained online. The reading list and course schedule will be shared, and presenters will be assigned. From Week 2 onward, students are expected to complete the assigned readings before each class and come prepared for discussion. Each week, one or two students will serve as presenters. Presenters are expected to cover the following: •a summary of the assigned articles (research questions, literature review, methods and data, findings, and conclusions); •a critical evaluation of the articles (strengths, limitations, and implications for the academic field and society); and •discussion questions and ideas. The reading list for this year is currently being updated and will be released shortly. At the end of the course, a student will be required to pick up one question from a list of questions and write an essay of approx. 2,000 words. Students will be able to ・discuss the significance, contributions, and limitations of each paper, and ・discuss the essay question, based on the assigned literature.

From Weeks 1 to 2, we will focus on understanding different approaches to qualitative research and learning how to read and evaluate qualitative research. From Weeks 4 to 7, we will focus on interview research, including research design and ethics, developing interview questions, conducting interviews, and analyzing interview data through coding. From Weeks 8 to 10, we will move on to fieldwork, covering research design and ethics, preparation and practice, data analysis, and writing qualitative research. In Weeks 11 and 12, we will return to the evaluation of qualitative research and consider the practical challenges, limitations, and lessons that arise in the actual research process. Students will be able to –Understand the concepts and theories of qualitative research method, –Plan qualitative research with attention to research ethics, –Discuss the strength and limitations of the applied research method, and –Evaluate the validity, positionality, reliability, generalizability and feasibility of the planned method.

目標：心理面接の基礎と、ケース運営の一連の流れを理解するとともに、様々な心理療法や臨床実践における多様な関わりを学び、臨床実践力を高めることを目的とする。 概要：実際のケース運営と心理実践の様々な技法のポイントについて理解を深める。具体的には心理相談が、どのように始まりどのような経過を経て終わって行くのかについて、一連の流れを理解する。さらに、様々な心理療法の理論や技法を習得することに加え、臨床実践における多様な関わりを理解し、臨床実践を行うための基礎を習得する。

刑法解釈論（とくに犯罪論総論・各論）にかかる重要問題を探究する。

図書館、図書館情報学に関わる英語または日本語の文献を輪読する。輪読を通じて、文献の読み方、そして基本的な概念や歴史などについても学んで行く。

生成文法の極小主義プログラムに基づく先行研究を読み、統語論の理論的変遷を学ぶ。フェイズ理論、ラベル付けの理論等の近年の考え方がどのような動機で導入され、それが各自の関心のある構文の研究においてどのような帰結をもたらすかの理解を深め、自らの研究に役立てるとともに、最新の研究論文を自力で読み解くための力を養うことを目標とする。
