歴史Ⅰ
「黒海」は、日本から遠く離れ、またその周辺に位置する国々も日本とのつながりが深いとは言えないため、総じて我々にとってなじみのない海と思われる。しかし冷戦終結後、この海の周辺で数々の紛争が生じたこともあり、この領域を一つのまとまりととらえて研究しようとする、いわゆる「黒海地域研究」が注目され、歴史学においても黒海地域史の研究が現われ始めた。本講義では、通常は「境界」や「狭間」と見なされ、あまり取り上げられることのないこの地域の歴史を概観し、この地域から周辺を見ることにより、新たな歴史像の提示を試みたい。

This module aims to investigate aspects of the history of past pandemics or "plagues" and how they have impacted on society. We will attempt to answer questions such as: Where do plagues come from? How do they spread? What counter measures have been taken in response to plagues throughout history? What have been the attitudes of society to victims of plague, and how have these changed? Finally, we will look at how infectious diseases have been significant factors in some major historical events. Part of the module will include student-led analysis of past pandemics. These may be historical but could also include more recent and emerging diseases such as Ebola and Zika virus.

Students will develop critical approaches and analytical skills as they exchange ideas with peers, ask questions, and respond to works in different genres through a variety of expressive modes. The course will focus on four fundamental themes: love, identity, death, and the meaning of life.

朝鮮近代宗教史概説－日本との比較を念頭に－
隣国である朝鮮半島も、19世紀以降の近代化においてその「宗教地形」が大きく変動した。この講義では19世紀以降の朝鮮半島における思想・宗教の変動を概観しつつ、植民地問題及び同時代の日本との比較も念頭に置きながら、現在に至るまでの流れを概説する。
近代東アジアの宗教・思想の共通点と問題点を認識することが目的である。
