This course explores the use of “human-centered innovation” for producing solutions and better alternatives to society issues. This is characterized by its foundation on insights from human/society lifestyles and values rather than solely technological improvements.
Through the course, students will learn the fundamentals for the design of social innovation workshops. Following these principles, students will learn to design and conduct an idea-creation workshop based on the methodology of scanning of weak signals and future scenarios thinking. For that, they will themselves conduct one full workshop, over several lectures, with the overarching topic of designing a “sustainable net-zero society by 2050”.
The course does not assume any previous knowledge and welcomes students from all disciplines with an interest in innovation and interdisciplinary and participatory lecture-style.

医療イノベーション俯瞰演習
研究分野を俯瞰し、自らの関心事項の世界における位置づけを明らかにする：
参加者自らが関心のあるテーマと研究上もしくは社会的な課題との関連性の俯瞰的に把握するため、①キーワード設定を試行錯誤しながら、キーワードの組合せにより文献データベースから何件の論文がヒットするかを実際にWeb of ScienceやPubMedを検索し、②膨大な文献の関係性を自動で解析するマッピングツールやテキストマイニングツールを用いて、自らの研究領域や関心を持つテーマがどのように分類されるか、③そうした情報空間は研究上の課題や社会的な課題とどう結びついているのかを分析する。文献データベースと分析ツールが発達し、修論や博論における「背景」記述には必須の作業となったが、ツールの利用体験がそのための準備となる。
In this exercise, we conduct training to overlook the field using tools that illustrate the relationship between research field and society. Enormous documents in Web of Science will be extracted by keywords and using a mapping tool (network analysis by citation relations, text mining for major document titles, etc.) Students exercise to get an overview of how interested themes are linked to social issues.

The primary goal of the course is to provide students with an integrated view of how the basic concepts of mathematics and physics are applied to collecting information about a system. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have:
-acquired a basic knowledge of the physics of information,
-gained an understanding of the physical principles of a broad range of modern sensors,
-developed skills in data analysis and system modeling.

科学技術イノベーション政策研究
[THIS COURSE IS OFFERED IN BOTH JAPANESE AND ENGLISH]
科学技術イノベーション政策について、官公庁や調査研究機関等において政策形成やそのために必要なエビデンスの構築に携わる知識を学び、科学技術イノベーション政策を研究する際に重要な論点を俯瞰する。
加えて、これらを実践知とするため、科学技術イノベーション政策について、政策プロセス・制度またはエビデンス構築を対象に、グループワークを中⼼とした事例研究を⾏う。各学⽣には、個別の専門領域に閉じることなく、文理融合・学術分野横断的な協働を通じて問題解決を図り、政策を企画⽴案分析する素養の体得を期待する。

This course is designed to develop necessary skills for collecting and anlayzing evidence for public policy-making at government agencies and research institutions, as well as to overview basic issues on science, technology, and innovation (STI) policy research. Students are encouraged to learn across academic disciplines; they are expected to work with other students from different departments/schools toward problem-solving and develop necessary skills for dealing with public issues and planning/evaluating public policy.

【世界が抱えている様々な課題を、テクノロジと知恵でいかに解決するか？】
社会の課題について自ら考え、行動を起こし、世界を変えていくことがすべての人に求められている。本講座では、専門領域も考え方も異なる３人の講師が、特に中長期的にICT技術が関わっていくべき課題について知見を述べ、それらを題材に受講生と講師がフリーディスカッションやワークショップを行い、考察や発想のプロセスを体験するのが目的である。
ディスカッションのテーマ例は以下のようなものであるが、各内容は社会情勢や新しいテクノロジの出現や受講者の関心領域などに応じて毎年柔軟に変化させている。
現時点での関心領域は、例えば以下のようなものである。
・人工知能が人間の知能を凌駕し、ロボットが人間の仕事のほとんどを代替するような未来において、人類はいかにしてその生物的限界を超え、どのように働けばよいのか？
・人工知能、ロボット、自動運転車の新技術と、倫理と法律はどう関係してくるか？新しいテクノロジが引き起こすかもしれない事故・事件を、従来型の法律・倫理はどう裁くのか？
・ブロックチェーン・暗号資産・NFT・DeFi・DAO・Web3「非中央集権型技術」は世界をどう変えていくのか。
・DXが進み、Fake情報蔓延する中で、人々はプライバシーをどう守るのか、また、そもそもプライバシーとは何か？
・Withコロナ、アフターコロナの「働き方」はどう変わっているのか？
・急速に進む遺伝子工学や宇宙ビジネスなどに、ビジネスフロンティアはどう切り込んでいるか？
・パンデミックや軍事侵攻で急変する世界のエネルギーバランス、その中でのグリーンリカバリーとそれらに向けたESG投資（仮想発電所、炭素税・・）？
・地球の限界（核兵器、温暖化、海洋汚染、スペースデブリなど）への認識と人類の対応は？

奥和田 久美
企業研究者を経て、科学技術・学術政策研究所にて科学技術予測のプロジェクトを指揮し、科学技術イノベーション基本計画などの政府長期戦略策定に関わる。「人と情報のエコシステム」などの新規研究プログラムの領域設計にも関わる。現在は、IT企業のDX改革、環境企業の新事業開拓コンサルティング、デジタルヘルスベンチャーの支援などを手がけている。内閣府日本学術会議上席学術調査員
楠 正憲
マイクロソフト、ヤフー、MUFGを経て統括官としてデジタル庁の立ち上げに参画。現在はデジタル庁統括官のほか、東京都 デジタルサービスフェロー、福岡市 政策アドバイザー、ISO/TC307 国内委員会 委員長などを務める。
牧野 司
2018年、東京海上日動火災・東京海上研究所を定年退職し、現在は東大GCL/IIWの非常勤講師として講義を担当するほか、国内外の複数の企業・組織の顧問・アドバイザーを務めている。また、企業情報化協会、損害保険総合研究所などからの依頼を受け、講演・ワークショップを多数行っている。2016年シンギュラリティ大学エグゼクティブプログラム参加。プライベートではキャンピングカーを所有し、日本中を旅しながら講義や仕事を行っている。
