情報メディア論I
本講義ではインターネットの仕組みや関連する技術を扱う。主にインターネットの基盤的なプロトコル群であるTCP/IPについて解説する。
様々なネットワークが相互に接続して構成されるインターネットにおいてどのように通信が行われているのか、普段使用しているハブやルータはどのように動作しているのか、Webブラウザによるサイトの表示（HTTP）や電子メールの送受信（SMTP・POP・IMAP）はどのように行われているのか、技術的な知識を学ぶことでインターネットをただ使うだけでなく、その動作を理解することを目的とする。受講にあたり情報工学の基礎知識を持っている必要はない。

インターネットが普及し、様々なものをネットワークに接続するようになってきている中で、企業や一般家庭における情報セキュリティの重要性はますます高まっている。本講義では主にマルウェアや不正アクセス、情報漏洩といったインターネットにおけるセキュリティ問題を取り上げ、事例の紹介や対策方法について解説する。また、インターネット利用において詐欺、権利侵害、個人情報等の問題では法律の知識も必要となることから、法的事柄についても解説する。

This is a course on visual culture in the 20th and 21st century, with a particular focus on the interplay between media technology, culture and society. This course will also be multidisciplinary in nature, as we reflect on our discursive assumptions in the historical, sociological, anthropological, philosophical disciplines among others. While the readings may primarily cover phenomenon in the United States, participants will be strongly encouraged to think of the specificity of the impact of globalization on media and society in various regions of the world including Japan.
The course objectives are the following:
-Gain a better understanding of the relationships between society, media, people, institutions and how they function as agents of maintaining the status quo or for fostering change
-Learn about the transformative faculties and social implications of quotidian applications of technology
-Gain deeper understanding of the academic disciplines
Topics will include (but are not limited to):
-representation of human-computer interaction in culture
-regional, transnational and international ecosystems of information technology
-artificial intelligence and algorithmic bias
-representation of race, ethnicity and gender and other minorities
-technological advancement and implementation in everyday life and the powers at play

図書館・博物館等における情報の提供と活用等に関する基礎的能力を養う。その際、現場の実態を提示するとともに、情報を活用するための前提となる知的財産権や情報倫理についても言及する。また、情報メディアをその歴史性から検討する視野を持てることも目標とする。
Developing Fundamental Skills for Providing and Utilizing Information in Libraries, Museums, and Similar Institutions. This includes presenting the practical aspects of the field, addressing intellectual property rights and information ethics as foundational elements for information utilization. Additionally, the goal is to cultivate a perspective that considers information media from its historical context.
