First, we will review the definition of a “system” and outline methods for analyzing the connections between its elements. We will also introduce the concept of “convenience”—which involves logically analyzing these connections by focusing on human intentions and constraints—and use it to explore logical reasoning and the diverse activities and creativity of people.
Next, we will fill out “Crab Cards” to gain an experiential understanding of the content from the previous lecture. We will visualize the connections between Crab Cards and consider the mutual conflicts between intentions and constraints. In this context, we will also learn techniques for discovering opportunities from data. We will transcribe the Crab Cards into dFrome structures and conduct an exercise to gain a hands-on understanding of how the “Network of Circumstances” connects to social value.
Next, we will lecture on and discuss the concept of using individual insights, thoughts, and information gathered on-site—before it becomes data (information collage)—as both traditional and innovative knowledge resources.
As an example of a target system, we will consider a bustling city. Through a lecture on the meaning of “bustle” and its associated opportunities and risks, we will first present examples of data-driven analysis. We will share a Moving Direction Entropy (MDE) heatmap and consider how to create a Tokyo that is both safe and enjoyable.
After an exercise in which participants deliberately articulate first-person narratives, we will visualize the relationships between previously created elements—such as “Crab Cards”—using BaleeGraph (partly a hands-on exercise).
Here, as a key focus, we will deliver a lecture on methodologies for examining data utilization. Furthermore, using the Hierarchical Narrative Graph Generation AI (HieNAR), we will associate social value with data at a higher dimension and conduct an exercise to consider “(scientific) depth”—the “(social) height” that is often overlooked in conventional data utilization. and “scientific depth”—aspects often overlooked in conventional data utilization.
Building on this, we will lay out the previously visualized BaleeGraphs like a carpet and delve deeper in the vertical dimension to explore social value, data, and potential technologies such as AI, thereby advancing our ideas (a separate space will be arranged for this). We will share design proposals for “vibrancy” that ensures stability and safety based on limited data. Using this as a starting point, we will conduct further workshops and other activities to deepen our understanding.
