Assignment 1 (individual assignment) : My User Manual & Leadership Style 2.0 The first half of this course (Weeks 2–7) focuses on understanding yourself as a foundation for leadership. This assignment asks you to consolidate what you have learned so far and to translate that understanding into a form that is useful for others, and not only reflective for yourself. Assignment 2 (group and individual assignments): Leadership in Action – Making Challenges into Opportunities for Non-Natives living in Japan/Students from Abroad/Visitors to Japan The second half of this course (Weeks 8–13) focuses on learning about teamwork and leadership through direct experience. You will be assigned to a team of three to five students. Each team will identify a challenge faced by either non-natives living in Japan, students from abroad, or visitors to Japan. Your team will conduct fieldwork and an interview, and develop a realistic solution grounded in real observations and stakeholder perspectives. As an individual deliverable, you will reflect on teamwork, and how you were able to demonstrate leadership by referring to at least three Learning Outcomes.
