언어로 읽는 SDGs: 한일 비교 언어학적 접근 SDGs through Language: A Korean-Japanese LInguistics Perspective

The primary objective of this course is to analyze linguistic differences across Korean, Japanese, and other languages by using expressions found in Korean- and Japanese-language SDGs-related texts as analytical materials from a linguistic perspective. Through reading relevant literature and engaging in presentations and discussions, students will compare and develop an understanding of differences in linguistic expression between Korean and Japanese.

At the same time, the course aims to deepen students’ understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals themselves by encouraging them to reflect on their own positions regarding each goal and to engage with the perspectives of others through discussion.

Each week, participants will read materials related to Korea and Japan based on the assigned topic. Students are expected to prepare a summary or presentation on the topic. After the presentations, there will be open discussions to share, compare, and analyze different perspectives. The course is conducted entirely in Korean and requires an upper-intermediate to advanced level of Korean proficiency. Non-specialists and native Korean speakers are also welcome to participate.
