(The Art of Attention)

The Art of Attention
"The Art of Attention" is an experiential seminar exploring how attention can be cultivated in ways that support wellbeing, learning, relationships, and engagement with the world. Rather than treating attention only as a concept or social problem, the course focuses on practices of attention (sensory awareness, mindful attention, deep listening, observation of nature and art, and reflection) and how these relate to flourishing. Students will also explore how ideas of attention and wellbeing are expressed across different languages and cultures.

Students of all proficiency levels are welcome. This is **NOT** a lecture course. It is run as an inquiry-driven workshop. Classes combine a short introduction with guided attention practices, individual reflection, and pair and small-group discussion. Participation includes attentive listening and contributing to group activities, not only speaking in whole-class discussion.
