Medicinal Chemistry: From Drug Discovery to Market
The discovery and development of efficacious drugs continue to be a challenging endeavor, requiring constant innovation at every stage. Of a greater challenge is the quest to develop personalized medicines. In this course, students will understand and appreciate the multidisciplinary skill set that is essential for today’s medicinal chemists. Topics covered include structural representation of molecules, structure-activity relationships, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug solubilization as well as economic and legal aspects of launching a drug.
