Case Study (Development Economics and Policy II)

In this course (DEP2), we see what major insights have recently emerged from development economics (e.g., RCT) and how they matter for development policy. Students are expected 1) to acquire basic knowledge and skills to read and discuss research and policy papers in development economics; and 2) to develop presentation, discussion, and report writing skills.

履修上の注意

Whereas Case Study (Development Economics and Policy I) (DEP1) mostly covers experimental approach, DEP2 covers both experimental and non-experimental approach in a more advanced way. Students who are familiar with the topics covered and program evaluation are recommended to take DEP2 without taking DEP1. I distinctively design these two courses in this way. Depending on your background, you can take DEP1 or DEP2, or both. Students who have taken Case Study (Empirical Development Microeconomics I) and Case Study (Empirical Development Microeconomics II) can register for this course. Prerequisite: None.
