Case Study (International Financial Institutions)
CASE STUDY (INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS)
This course will provide an overview of key international financial institutions (IFIs) and opportunities to acquire skill to work in IFIs. In the lecture, IFIs are likely to include the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, International Finance Corporation [IFC], Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other key IFIs. Experts from these IFIs will deliver lectures. These experts may include the heads of the Tokyo offices of the IFIs. The course will also offer opportunities to acquire fundamental skill to work in IFIs – conducting international negotiation, leading an international meeting, managing conflict, presenting oponion in an international organsation….
At the end of the course, students are expected to fully understand major functions and challenges of IFIs and demonstrate skill in working there.
Students taking this course for credits must take part in all lectures, participate actively in classroom discussions, present a draft term paper on topics related to the course, and submit the final version of the term paper.
