2050年の地球と人類社会――分野横断的なアプローチを通して The Earth and Human Society – Interdisciplinary Perspectives
本授業は東京大学国際高等研究所東京カレッジの研究テーマ「2050年の地球と人類社会」に基づいて行われます。デジタル化の衝撃・環境の危機・人文知の将来・生や命の未来など、現在の人類社会が直面している重大な課題に取り組むために、受講者が総合的かつ分野横断的な考え方を身に付け発展させることを目標とします。これらの地球規模の課題の解決に、あなたは、東京大学は、そして日本は、一体どのように貢献できるのか、一緒に考えてみましょう。

【学びの目標】

▶　日本と人類社会が直面している課題について基礎的な知識と理解を得ること
▶　分野横断的な研究の必要性を知り、その特徴を理解すること
▶　様々な研究分野のアプローチを用いて諸課題を分析し、自分自身の批判的立場を確立すること
▶　地球規模の課題への日本の貢献の可能性について検討し、評価すること

This seminar builds on the theme of “Tokyo College” to enable you to develop an integrated and interdisciplinary perspective on some of the pressing challenges confronting human society: the impact of digitalization, environmental crises, the future of humanistic knowledge, and life and its value for the future society. It encourages you to reflect on the question how you, the University of Tokyo and Japan can contribute to the solution of these global issues.

After successfully completing this course, you will
•have a basic understanding of some of the key challenges faced by Japan and global society
•be aware of the need for interdisciplinary research and its characteristics
•be able to analyze issues from different disciplinary perspectives and develop your own critical standpoint
•be able to debate and evaluate Japan’s potential to contribute to the solution of global issues

履修人数上限２５名（登録順で決定） 授業に参加する学生には、次のことが求められます。 ●毎回授業に出席すること。 ●授業中の議論と課題に積極的に参加すること。 ●週毎に設定されたリーディングを行ってから授業に臨むこと。 ●週毎に設定された問いに、短い回答を書くこと。 ●最後の週に、短い口頭でのプレゼンテーションを行うこと。 To receive credits for this course, we expect •∙regular attendance •∙active participation in in-class discussion and activities •∙weekly preparation of readings (ca. 25 pages) •∙short written responses to weekly prompts (ca. one paragraph) •∙preparation of a short oral presentation for the final session (ca. 5 min)
