CAMPUS Asia Joint Course: Public Policy in Japan
This class is a Capstone course. The topic will be the revitalization of local government in Japan (the details will be announced in the first meeting). The participants will be required to investigate the practical problems faced by the Japanese government. The grouping will be based on the diversified background. Each team will be required to have a presentation with a practical solution. This class will have a field trip.
This course is designed for students participating in the Campus Asia program. Non-Campus Asia students at the University of Tokyo are also allowed to register for the course.
本稿義は、キャンパスアジアプログラムのための講義になります。もっとも、キャンパスアジアプログラムに所属しない学生の参加も歓迎しています。特に、本稿義を通じて、北京大学やソウル大学、シンガポール国立大学の学生との交流を図ることが可能です。大学院を通じてアジアの学生との接点を作りたい学生には適しています。
この講義はキャップストーン演習の講義です。学生は複数のグループに分けられ、現実的な問題に取り組むことが求められます。今年のテーマは地方創生を予定しています（具体的な内容は初回の講義にアナウンスします）。昨年は総務省の役人も参加しましたが、今年もそれを予定しています。本稿義はキャンパスアジアプログラムの学生をメインの対象としていますが、キャンパスアジアの学生以外も参加可能です。

This class is open from A1 to A2. The class schedules (timetable) show two consecutive lectures, but since this class has two credits, we have the meetings irregularly. Please read the guidance in ITCLM carefully. The details of the schedule will be provided on the first day of the course, so please attend the first meeting when you like to register for this class. The preliminary plan of lectures (subject to change) is as follows:
・Orientation and grouping
・The field trip led by UTokyo
・Lecture by guest speakers
・Group discussions
・Presentation by each group
このクラスはS1とS2に実施されますが、2単位の講義です。時間割表では講義は２コマ連続と記載されていますが、講義は不定期で実施されます。必ずITLCMでスケジュールを確認してください。最初のガイダンスは初回の講義日に実施されるので、必ず参加してください。現在のプランは下記の通りです。

履修上の注意
This course is designed for students in the CAMPUS Asia program but non-CAMPUS Asia students may register for the course upon approval. Lectures by SNU and PKU faculties are open to all students. This course is mandatory for all students participating in CAMPUS Asia Program at UTokyo
Some of the proposals could be posted online. The instructor will explain the details during the class.
Since this class includes a field trip, non-CAMPUS Asia students who wish to register should send (1) TOEFL score, (2) SOP (1 page), (3) the plan to join Camupus Asia, (4) plan to join the field trip (the current plan is Fukushima) to ***** by Sep 25, 2023 JST. The CAMPUS Asia Office will select the candidates and notify the results by mail. Some of the classes could be conducted on weekend.
