主に駒場の2年生を対象とし（1年生も参加可能）、Molecular Biology of the Cellを英語で読むことで、生命科学を英語で学ぶ習慣を身につけ、さらにその基礎となっている原著論文を読む事が出来るようになる事を目標とする。

10回目以降で読む章は、学生の希望により決定する。
Teaching Methods
各回2～3名の担当を最初に決め、Molecular Biology of the Cellに付属の Powerpointのプレゼンテーションを使って担当の章の解説を30分程度行う。担当教員と医学部医学科の3~6年生によるチューターのアドバイスのもと、発表と議論を中心に進める。2巡目からは、教科書に書かれたことの元になっている論文を読んで、実験的にはそれがどのように示されたのかを勉強する。
Method of Evaluation
出席と上記のプレゼンテーションに基づいて評価を行う。
Notes on Taking the Course
教養学部の一般生物学レベルの教科書内容、例えば、核酸やタンパク質の性質や、遺伝子や細胞の仕組み等を理解していることを前提としています。
