Asian Economic Development and Integration
The course will provide various research topics related to Asian Economic Development.
In each lecture, economist at Asian Development Bank Institute located in Tokyo (at Kasumigaseki) will give their research topics.
No need for any preparatory courses.
The objective of the class is to connect theory and econometric analysis with proctical policies used in Asia and Pacific economy. The course will give ways to use economic analysis in actual policy making in Asian and Pacific region.
When economic theory or econometric methods were used in the class, basic analysis will be reviewed by the instructor so that no need for prior knowledge in economic theory and econometrics.
The lead instructor of the course is N. Yoshino who was former Dean/CEO of Asian Development Bank Institute (2004-2020).

In each class, economist from Asian Development Bank Institute willl provide lectures based on various topics.

授業の方法
Ineach lecture, instructor will explain their own research and related literature.
Side reading materials are explained so that students can learn each topic in much deeper.
At the end of each lecture, one short question will be asked to the sdutents who are supposed to submit their answer after the class.
Fisrt part of the lecture is given by instructors and the latter part will be opened to questions and asnweres.
Time for the discussion will be prepared in each class so that students can ask various questions for the class.
成績評価方法
50% of the grading comes from homework given at each class.
Students are asked to write a paper based on the class which they are interested in.
One lecturer will be assisting each student to complete their papers.
In January 2022, student presentation of their paper will be set up.
50% of the final grading comes from submitted paper and 0resentation.
教科書
Text book is not used, however, all the lecturers will give clear presentations which use papers and power points.
参考書
Reading lists of each topic is provided by the lecturer. If students are intereseted in some subject and would like to study more, the lecturer will help each student to sttudy further.
履修上の注意
There is no need for student to know economics nor political science. However, students are encouraged to participate in the class and raise quesions and comments whenever he/shi feels difficult to understand. Students participation in the class is strongly recommended.
