Comparative Trusts Law

Comparative Trusts Law
Students will investigate the principles of trusts law in several key jurisdictions, cultivating a global, comparative insight into trusts as distinctive legal instruments. Students will learn the role of trusts in the economy and society, and critically evaluate the strengths, weaknesses and tensions in multiple kinds of trust structure from jurisprudential and practical perspectives.

授業の方法
Teaching is by seminar, conducted in English. Classes are discursive and students must attend having already thoroughly read the assigned materials.
成績評価方法
There is no written examination. Students are assessed on the basis of class participation and an essay (2500 words, in English).

There is no textbook. Weekly reading materials will be assigned.
参考書
Provided in class where necessary.
履修上の注意
A high standard of English is required to perform well in this course (sufficient to understand English-language legal materials and exchange opinions in class discussions).
