英語中級（クラス指定セメスター型）

The first two classes will be lecture style on: International Human Rights Law, The UN human rights mechanisms (Human Rights Council, Treaty Bodies) The rest of the classes will be group discussion and activity based. Sometimes debate style or role play will be used. Topics of discussion include: 1. Right to life, right to physical integrity (including the topics of intentional killings, torture and ill-treatment) 2. Right to education, right to health 3. Protection of children, including from the sale, sexual exploitation and sexual abuse One highlight is that, in this course, we will use some real-time materials from a particular UN human rights mechanism: UN Human Rights Council's Special Rapporteur on the sale, sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children (for which the instructor is serving) We will also deal with some real situations and cases. Examples may include Russia/Ukraine, Gaza, Venezuela, Haiti, and South Sudan. -- 初回と2回目の授業は講義形式で行い、国際人権法とそのメカニズム、人権、その範囲と限界について扱う。 残りの授業はディスカッションを主とする。グループでディスカッションをし、それを全体にフィードバックしたり、グループ通しでのディベート方式で授業を行ったり、アクティビティやロールプレイを使うこともある。扱うトピックには、 １．生命の権利、身体の安全（故意による殺人、拷問や非人道的・品位を傷つける行為の問題を含む） ２．教育の権利、健康の権利 ３．児童の保護（児童売買、性的搾取と性的暴力からの保護を含む） などを含める。 この授業の特徴としては、担当教員が兼任している国連人権理事会特別報告者（児童売買、性的搾取及び性的暴力）の活動の実際の動画、文書や活動などを教材として利用する。 実際の世界情勢やケースについても扱う。例えば、ロシア・ウクライナ、ガザ、ベネズエラ、南スーダンなど。 ［2026/9/29更新］　初回授業から対面で実施します。

The course aims to work on discussion skills. Students are expected to participate in discussions actively. ディスカッションを行う能力を高めることを主に目指すため、積極的な授業への参加が求められます。

The course instructor worked for the United Nations for about two decades. She is also currently serving as the United Nations Human Rights Council's Special Rapporteur on the sale, sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children. This course will use real UN materials, concepts and terminologies. 講師は国連で20年ほど勤務経験があり、また、現在国連人権理事会の特別報告者（児童売買、並びに性的搾取と性的暴力分野）を務めている。実際の国連の文書、イベント動画、コンセプトや語彙を使い、実務上のコミュニケーションの技術を伝えられるように授業をデザインする。
