科学技術基礎論(PEAK)
History of Science: from Greek Science to Newton
Science has an image of being a discipline that deals with unchangeable truths. but on the other hand, science has a long history dating back to ancient times, with various 'sciences' having been accomplished in different regions and at different times, forming the science of today. This lecture will provide an opportunity to look at science from the perspective of world history. In particular, I will trace how science was developed in each region and period, by what kind of people, for what purpose and in what form, from ancient times to the formation of modern science.
