Each week, students will, in small groups and as a class, practice analyzing print advertisements to hone their critical-interpretative skills. Over the course of the term, structured tasks such as close study and observation, description, interpretation, and reformulation will help students practice and acquire the skills necessary to conduct visual analysis. At the conclusion of the term, students will compose an in-class analysis of an advertisement selected by the instructor.
