Introduction to understanding public policy and the field of policy sciences

The course gives an introduction to understanding public policy and the field of policy sciences. Upon completing the course students will understand the distinction between analysis of policy and for policy, and they will have a good insight into and be able to apply major theories of the policy process. They will have the skill and capacity to write a short policy brief based on the analysis of a policy problem.

participation 20%, Policy Brief (40%), final exam (40%)

There is no prerequisite knowledge necessary for taking the course. There is no preparatory study expected of students. We will use UTOL for contact and access to course materials and other related information.
