Science and Technology from the Vantage of Cultural Anthropology
** This course will be taught in both Japanese and English.
The aim of this course is to give students a brief introduction to the anthropology of science and technology, and STS (science and technology studies), through close readings of key texts. We will look at how anthroplogists ask questions of science and technology, the methods they use to study it, and the concepts they use to understand it.

授業計画
1. Introduction. The first class will be an overview of the course and assignment of presentations.
2 - 7. In the sessions that follow, we will read a selection of articles and chapters from book each week (2 to 3 chapters or articles). Students will be assigned to give brief presentations on their readings.

The course will be in a discussion-based seminar format.
成績評価方法
Final Paper: 80%
Proposal for Final Paper: 20%
