開発と政治・行政

This course is designed as an introduction to government and public policy, especially focusing on
contexts in the global south and political economy of bilateral/multilateral aid. By the end of the course,
students should have better conceptual tools to understand 1) how and when government works (or not)
and how such workings can result in positive policy responses as well as serious policy inaction; and 2)
what actions can be taken by the international community to improve people’s welfare in the global south
and how these actions can be influenced by political interests.
