空間情報科学入門

Introduction to Geoinformatics

This course provides an introduction to Geoinformatics. It is a highly demanded technique in research and practice in international development. The first part of the course covers GIS (Geographic Information System), and the second part covers RS (Remote Sensing). The course includes lectures on the theoretical background of geographic information and exercises on tools and techniques for processing geo-data with GIS software. Participants learn how to apply Geoinformatics for resource and environmental management.

授業の方法

This course consists of a lecture series. Each student exercises the learned techniques on their own PC.

成績評価方法

This course is assessed on the basis of class participation (20%) and assignments (80%).

<Class Information> The course will be held in person at the Kashiwa campus (Lecture room on the 7th floor) as a two-day intensive course. The dates will be announced shortly. Students need to bring their laptops. The class uses the GIS software QGIS, which is available on both Windows and Mac. But note that the instructor will use a Windows PC, and the QGIS Windows and Mac versions are not 100% compatible. Mac users may borrow a department Windows PC upon request. You must attend the first class, and you cannot join the course mid-course. This course is offered in Japanese in the S2 term. Students who took credit for the Japanese course are not permitted to register for this course. ＜その他＞尚，「社会人経験に基づく単位認定」は「『単位認定』の実施要領（2013年9月13日基幹専攻会議改正）」に則り，下記1)および2)の方法で単位認定の可否を判断する． 1) 社会人経験と本講義との関連が記載された履歴書等の資料の精査，及び 2) 本講義のレポート内容に基づく30分程度の口頭試問
