空間情報科学入門
Introduction to Geoinformatics
This course is aimed at providing an introduction to Geoinformatics. It is a highly demanded technique recently in the research and pragmatic field of international development. The first part of the course is about GIS (Geographical Information System), and the second part is about RS (Remote Sensing). The course consists of lectures on theoretical backgrounds of geographical information and exercises on tools and techniques to process geo-data with GIS software. Participants learn how to apply Geoinformatics for resource and environmental management.

GIS (Day 1)
（1）GIS Set-up, Basic knowledge of GIS, Thematic Mapping
（2）Spatial information analysis basics
（3）Analysis of land-use change
RS (Day 2)
（4）RS basics, Analysis of vegetation and water areas
（5）Creating categorical maps for land coverage
（6）Utilizing Digital Elevation Map, Datum and coordinate systems, Useful tips for field work
授業の方法
This course consists of lecture series. Each student exercise GIS and RS techniques with own PC.
成績評価方法
This course is assessed on the basis of class participation (20%) and assignments (80%).

尚，「社会人経験に基づく単位認定」は「『単位認定』の実施要領（2013年9月13日基幹専攻会議改正）」に則り，下記1)および2)の方法で単位認定の可否を判断する．

2) 本講義のレポート内容に基づく30分程度の口頭試問
