Introduction to Modern Commutative Algebra
Auslander、D. Buchsbaum、J.-P.
In the latter half of the twentieth century, homological methods in commutative algebra developed rapidly. A key milestone was the characterization of regular local rings in terms of global dimension, due to Auslander-Buchsbaum and Serre. Pushing this line of research further led to the introduction of Cohen–Macaulay rings. In the 1960s, Grothendieck systematized the homological approach, developing basic tools for modern commutative algebra such as Gorenstein rings, canonical modules, and local cohomology. In this course, we will discuss these topics and aim to provide a foundation in homological methods in commutative algebra.
