In this module, we will focus on speaking, reading, writing and listening to Scientific English using diverse up-to-date material such as TED talks, JOVE and scientific literature. This class will be held entirely in English.

科学者（化学者）にとって研究成果の発表や外国の研究者との意思疎通には実用レベルの英語能力が必須であるが、小学校でのローマ字教育や日常会話で英語的発音を用いると違和感が伴うことなどで、効率よく英語的発音を学習できないのが現状である。ここでは日本人が間違え易い英語発音などを矯正し、英語能力の向上を目指す。

Afer this module, you will have a methodological toolbox of your own to refer to when:
-preparing a self-introduction for diverse audiences
-preparing a presentation for seminars or conferences
-preparing a scientific methods protocol
-preparing questions for scientific discussions
-preparing pros and cons for group discussions
-leading a group discussion
-listening to and understanding scientific speeches in diverse English accents (American English, British English, Scottish English, Indian English and more)

化学、特に有機化学や生化学でよく用いられる表現や言葉（術語など）を演習形式で反復学習することにより、基本的な英語能力を向上させる。外国の大学などで公開されているネット講義も教材にして、分かり易く解説することにより、英語的表現の理解を深めさせる。
