【注意】この授業は開講日程の都合上、成績が所定の確認日より後に公開される見込みが高いので留意すること。特に2年生は本科目の成績が進学選択が可能となる条件に含まれない見込が高いので、履修にあたっては十分に注意すること。

この授業は、文化遺産保全管理の背景にある政治性や歴史の認識、保全管理の在り方を現地で学ぶものです。
特に、難しい歴史のある文化遺産をどう守っていくか、具体的な事例を通して考え、分析をし、学んでいきます。
今回は、戦争によって「文化遺産」となった広島の事例を調査し、誰のために、何を、どのように残していくのか、残さないのか、考えていきます。広島は、被爆者としての歴史が想起されるようになりましたが、戦前・戦時中は軍の歴史を体現する場所でもありました。そこが、原爆投下を経て、原爆の記憶を継承する上で、新たな意味合いを持つようになっていったプロセスを、様々な被爆遺構、樹木、建築物などにフォーカスをあてながら、考えていくのが本演習です。
This course involves learning on-site about the political and historical context underlying cultural heritage conservation and management, and examining approaches to conservation and management.
Specifically, we will consider, analyze, and learn how to protect cultural heritage with complex histories through concrete case studies.
This time, we will investigate the case of Hiroshima, which became a “cultural heritage” site due to war, and consider for whom, what, and how we preserve or choose not to preserve. While Hiroshima is now primarily associated with its history as a site of atomic bombing, it also embodied military history during the pre-war and wartime periods. This seminar will examine the process by which the city acquired new significance in preserving the memory of the atomic bombing after the attack, focusing on various bomb-damaged structures, trees, and buildings.

授業計画
4月中にガイダンスを行い（全体オリエンテーションの際に、詳細を説明予定）、希望者多数の場合には、総合的な評価をしたうえで、教員が15名程度を選抜します。
Sセメスター後半（6月）より、事前調査・講義等を実施し、研修で行う現地調査に向けた準備を行い、8月前半に研修を通じて調査を行います。
帰国後はレポートを提出してもらい、最終評価を行います。
6月より、以下の講義とリサーチを行います。
「戦争遺産とは何か」
「被爆地・広島」

Guidance sessions will be held during April (details to be explained during the general orientation). Should there be a large number of applicants, approximately 15 students will be selected by the teaching staff following a comprehensive assessment.
From the latter half of Semester S (June), preliminary research and lectures will be conducted to prepare for the fieldwork undertaken during the training program. The fieldwork itself will be carried out during the training program in the first half of August.
Students will be required to submit a report afterwards, which will be graded for the final assessment.

＊2026Sセメスターに開講される全学自由研究ゼミナール『文化遺産のポリティクス』を受講し、国際研修の背景にある文化遺産の保全管理をめぐる理論や現状を理解することが求められます。
＊Students must enroll in the course “The Politics of Cultural Heritage" in the second period, which will be offered in the 2026S semester, to gain an understanding of the theories and current practices surrounding the conservation and management of cultural heritage that underpin the international training program.
授業の方法
本授業では、一方的に講義を聞くだけではなく、アクティブラーニングの手法を取り入れたグループワークや発表を通じた意見や課題の共有に積極的に参加することが求められています。そのため、教員が提示した文献や材料を事前に予習することが前提となっています。
本授業で学んだ視座を通して、政治的なものとしての文化遺産を理解し、客観的に分析できるようになることで、考察力を培うことが期待されます。
This course requires active participation not only in lectures but also in group work and presentations employing active learning methods, through which students share opinions and challenges. Therefore, prior preparation using the literature and materials provided by the instructor is a prerequisite.
Through the perspectives gained in this course, students are expected to develop critical thinking skills by understanding cultural heritage as a political entity and learning to analyze it objectively.

日本人学生と留学生に向けた講義であることから、学生の語学力に合わせて日本語、または英語で授業を行います。
As this lecture is intended for both Japanese and international students, it will be conducted in Japanese or English, depending on the students' language proficiency.
実務経験と授業科目の関連性
教員はユネスコで有形文化遺産専門家としてフランス、ペルー、カンボジアなどの国で勤務していたほか、専門家としてコソボ、メキシコなどでもプロジェクトを行っています。
The professor has worked as a tangible cultural heritage expert for UNESCO in countries including France, Peru and Cambodia, and has also undertaken projects as an expert in Kosovo and Mexico.
