Plant genetic resources: research for development towards food security and poverty alleviation
[Course description]
The role of plant science on the agricultural development, such as studies on plant genetic diversity and plant adaptation to prevailing (a)biotic stresses, will be discussed in this intensive program. Hands-on training and field practices on rice farming will be also conducted at the Institute for Sustainable Agro-ecosystem Services.
[Expected Learning]
To be able to express ideas about the agricultural technology and rural development based on biological science, and discuss these with others.

Participants are expected to have already taken the subject "Crop Management (IPADS)" or, if not, have studied crop management (particularly rice management) or crop ecology before the start of the class. The course will be held in Tanashi Campus (not Yayoi Campus) or online (via ZOOM). All information (resume, venue, date/time) will be provided thru LMS. Carefully check your LMS
