Why do plants die under dry soil conditions?
What is the most serious form of soil degradation?
When studying soils, we often discuss their properties based on a snapshot taken at a particular point in time and space. In reality, however, the movement of water and substances in soils varies both temporally and spatially. At the same time, soil water dynamics can, to some extent, be understood and predicted based on physical principles. With these perspectives in mind, this course will explore several topics related to dynamic processes in soils.
Understand soil hydraulic properties and how climate and physical properties determine typical soil moisture conditions in a region. How solute transports in soils and accumulates at the soil surface)
(Understand both amount and quality of soil water affect plant growth)
(Understand present situation of water erosion and its significance)
