国際水産開発学総論 E (Global Fisheries Science and Policy (E)/ Global Fisheries Science and Policy (E)
Present issues on global fisheries, in particular allocation problems of marine living resources in the world and conflicts among the nations, will be reviewed through lectures. Basic knowledge can be obtained through the lecture on theoretical aspects for fishery managements, relevant international laws, and emerging issues for small-scale fisheries.

Class discussion on case studies will be planned, and students are expected to participate to the debate. Examples of the topics of the class are as follows (not all the topics are necessarily covered): (1) International collaborations and conflicts on fisheries resource managements under fishing quota system, (2) area based fisheries managements and marine protect area, (3) small-scale fisheries and globalization, and (4) trade agreements (FTA, WTO) and fisheries.

Intensive 2-day lecture classes is scheduled in 21-22 December 2021 More specifically, the following schedule is planned. Date 1: 21 December (Tuesday) 13:00-18:30pm Date 2: 22 December (Tuesday) 13:00-18:30pm

Lecture and class discussion (using Zoom breakout-session)
成績評価方法
40% report and 60% class participation. A report subject will be announced in the class. Class participation is evaluated by class attendance and proactive participation for the discussion.

English is the primary language used in the lectures and discussions. More specifically, the lecture is given in English, with some supplemental remarks in Japanese if necessary.
