農業資源経済学特論CⅠ (Agricultural and Resource Economics CI)
In this seminar, we will study various topics in econometrics, agricultural economics, development economics, and environmental economics. Students will work on either a reading task or a lecture task. M1 students will work on reading task, M2 on lecture task, and doctoral students may choose which task they would like to participate in.
1. Reading Task
Each student will conduct a literature review on selected topics in econometrics, agricultural economics, development economics, and environmental economics by summarizing review articles from the Annual Review of Resource Economics or the Annual Review of Economics, as well as the related studies cited in those articles. Two or three students will be assigned to each topic.
2. Lecture Task
Each student is expected to prepare lecture notes on a topic of interest (e.g., risk, trade, or policy). Assuming that the lecture is intended for undergraduate students and will last 90 minutes, you should clearly summarize the background, theoretical framework, and empirical evidence related to the selected topic.

Friday 10:25-12:10, but can be extended based on the number of participants (most probably, 9:30-12:30).
授業の方法
Student presentation and discussion.
成績評価方法
Presentation is necessary, but not sufficient condition to earn credit. The grade will be based on two exams (in-person), with deductions applied for absences and other participation issues. The exams will assess your basic understanding of class discussions. No credit will be given if you have four or more absences. Zoom participation is only approved if you are sick or located far away.
履修上の注意
Participants should have basic knowledge of microeconomics and econometrics.
All students MUST attend the first class. We will fix the schedule, so if you skip the first class, you can't participate from the second class. If you can’t participate in person in the first class, please participate from ZOOM.
