授業の方法
The readings for each class are assigned ahead. At the beginning of class, there will be a quick written assessment of your preparation, which may be completed in consultation of your notes. In addition to my lectures, you will each be assigned to prepare a report on a food-related policy in the United States and lead a discussion on a scholarly journal article and receive feedback from your peers. In general, most oral communication, including presentations, are expected to take place in English. All written assignments may be completed in English or Japanese.
成績評価方法
Course grade will be a weighted average of the scores on class preps, presentations, discussions, peer review of presentations, and final exam. The percentage of scores needed for course letter grades are: 優 85%, 良 75%, and 可 65%. I reserve the right to lower these thresholds, but I will not raise them. Students in the graduate and undergraduate programs will be assessed differently. Exam is a closed book, summative assessment to be completed during the last class period. You may complete the exam in English or in Japanese.
