Special Lecture on Agricultural and Resource Economics IV
This course introduces econometric methods for empirical studies with a focus on applications in environmental and energy economics. The aim is to familiarize graduate students with both the theoretical and practical aspects of causal inference, including its recent developments. Students should have a basic understanding of econometrics and statistics.
The lecture will cover the following topics:

Zoom: October 8, 15, 22, 29; November 5, 26 (Wednesdays). 10:25 am-12:10 pm.
In-person: November 15, 16 (Saturday and Sunday). 1:00 pm-2:45 pm, 2:55 pm-4:40 pm, 4:50 pm-6:35 pm. The classroom will be announced later.

授業の方法
Instructor: Hideki Shimada (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology)
Explain the lecture notes using Zoom.
The lecture will be mostly given in English. Some topics may be explained in Japanese if most students are Japanese.
成績評価方法
Grades will be based on attendance (20%), the final exam (40%), and the final report (40%).
The final report: After the final exam, students will be asked to summarize their research ideas using a method introduced in the lectures. Details will be announced in a lecture.
