This course introduces basic frameworks of behavioral economics in the contexts of consumer purchasing decisions, information and uncertainty, time discounting, and social preferences. It also explores how the frameworks can be applied to food policy analysis. This course's objectives are as follows:
To gain familiarity with basic frameworks of behavioral economics explaining consumer behaviors. To learn how to apply the frameworks to food policy analysis.
To improve the ability to critically read and assess academic papers on food policy.
