Animal Biological Chemistry and Physiology

Animal Biological Chemistry and Physiology
This lecture series will focus on the molecular, cellular and physiological mechanisms of biological phenomena in animals and human, focusing on how molecular, cellular and physiological functions are linked to in vivo reactions in response to environmental factors such as external environmental changes and food intake. The lecture will cover basic topics at the molecular level, such as protein structure and function and protein-molecule interactions, and will include applications in cell biology, molecular genetics, and medicine, as well as in agricultural science. In addition, genes that regulate higher functions such as learning and memory, appetite, biological clock, emotion, taste, smell, pain, and pheromone response have recently been discovered, and the hottest current topics will be introduced.

授業の方法
Lectures will be given in an omnibus format by lecturers including the faculty member in charge. Each lecturer will give a lecture on the state-of-the-art in his/her field, covering from the basics to applications in the field of animal biological chemistry and physiology.
成績評価方法
Reports and attendance will be evaluated. Content: Select three lectures and submit a report on each lecture with abstracts and impressions (about 500 words). However, students who do not attend at least half of the lectures will not be evaluated. Reports must be submitted via ITC-LMS.
