世界の諸英語を通して培う工学の国際的視野
Global Perspectives in Engineering and World Englishes
本授業では、海外の工学系大学生(2026年度はミュンヘン工科大学)とのオンライン交流を通じて、工学分野に関わる多様なテーマについて英語で意見交換をし、受講生と異なる英語の背景をもつ相手とのコミュニケーションを実践的に体験する。インド英語と中国英語を中心に、多様な英語の実態を理解するとともに、工学分野の交流テーマに基づいた英語表現や発話の多様性を比較・考察するペアワークを行う。交流後には、多様な英語の特徴に基づく相互理解のプロセスを振り返るとともに、海外の大学生との対話を通して工学の国際的な視野を培うことを目指す。
In this course, students will take part in online exchanges with engineering students at an overseas university (Technical University of Munich in AY 2026). Through these exchanges, students will discuss a range of topics related to engineering in English and gain practical experience in communicating with partners who have different English backgrounds. With a focus on Indian English and Chinese English, the course will help students understand the diversity of English used around the world. Students will also engage in pair work to compare and reflect on different English expressions and speaking styles based on engineering-related exchange topics. After the exchanges, students will reflect on the process of mutual understanding based on the features of diverse Englishes and aim to develop an international perspective on engineering through dialogue with overseas university students.

授業の方法
基本的には、対面で行う。しかし、参加者の都合により、オンラインへ移行する可能性あり。
初回は、8号館722教室で行う。なお参加者に応じて授業開講日を変更する可能性あり。
In principle, the class will be conducted face-to-face. However, it may be moved online depending on the circumstances of the participants. The first class will be held on Tuesday, April 14, during the fifth period (16:50–18:35) in Room 722, Building 8. Please note that the starting date of the course may be changed depending on the participants.
成績評価方法
授業への貢献度と参加率/Contribution to class and attendance: 20%
オンライン言語交換レポート/Online language exchange reports:10%*5回=50%
第7回成果発表/Final presentation in Class 7: 30%
履修上の注意
英語と日本語で、ミュンヘン工科大学の学生とオンライン言語交換を行います。本授業の履修者は、日本語を母国語とする、または、日本語検定 N 1レベルが必須です(母語話者ではない場合、宮田と30分ほどの面談をします)。また、時差の関係上、深夜帯に言語交換が行われる可能性があることを承知しておいてください。
初回は、8号館722教室で行う(日時は追って連絡します)。受講を希望する学生は、必ず事前アンケートに回答すること(https://docs.google.com/*****)。また、初回授業に参加できないものは、*****まで連絡をすること。
Students will participate in online language exchanges with students from the Technical University of Munich in English and Japanese (from May 18 to July 12). Students enrolled in this course must be native speakers of Japanese or have Japanese proficiency at the JLPT N1 level. (If a student is not a native speaker of Japanese, they will have an interview with Miyata for about 30 minutes.) Please also note that, because of the time difference, the language exchanges may take place late at night.
The first class will be held on Tuesday, April 14, during the fifth period (16:50–18:35) in Room 722, Building 8. Students who wish to take the course must complete the pre-course questionnaire in advance:
