Empirical Methods in Applied Economics

Empirical Methods in Applied Economics
Starting with a basic statistical method such as OLS, you will learn how to develop a statistical model that explains the observation well. Based on the basic knowledge of statistics, we focus more on the practical aspects of statistical analysis than on the mathematical background. You will be able to use any available statistical software, such as R or Stata, and learn which statistical method should be applied to which type of empirical dataset.

授業の方法
A textbook will be provided on UTOL. The first half of the class will be a lecture based on the textbook. In the second half of the class you will do statistical exercises based on the lecture of the day. The answer is due within one week. The original textbook will be made available via UTOL from April 1 onwards. -> The textbook is scheduled to be uploaded by April 5. (Revised on March 31)
