The class will study key concepts in technical strategy and product development. Management. Technology today plays an increasingly important role in many enterprises and technical strategy is now an integral part of overall business strategy. Therefore, our study of technical strategy is inseparable with that of business strategy. Product development is also rapidly changing from static methods with focus on schedule, quality and cost to very dynamic process with major emphasis on speed and agility. The class attempts to reflect these changes and will study the subject with the following three major focus areas. 1.Major strategy frameworks 2. Case studies and challenges in the latest trend of digital business 3.Product development process and methods The class will focus on studying basic concepts in wide range of these topics and therefore will not go deep into a single topic. It will look at a variety of real examples. Also, the class will use an individual as well as a group work to get hands on experience of the concepts.
