The course consists of omnibus-style lectures in English given by internationally active researchers. Each lecture includes a presentation followed by questions and discussion.
Students are required to submit their impressions of three out of the six lectures. In addition, students should select one lecture and submit a one-page A4 report describing how the knowledge gained from the lecture can be applied to or improve their own study or research. Grading will be based on these submissions.
No specific prerequisite knowledge is required. Students are encouraged to review the basic concepts related to each lecture topic as necessary before class and to review the lecture afterward in relation to their own study or research.
