Global Environmental Science & Earth Resource Exploration/グローバル環境・探査科学
The purpose of this course is to develop the ability to summarize and communicate research findings to others through (1) learning about the exploration of seafloor mineral resources and their relationship to the marine environment through lectures, incorporating the latest findings; (2) deepening understanding of what has been learned by searching for and reading relevant English literature; and (3) presenting what has been understood through lectures and literature reading.
本授業の趣旨は、(1) 講義で海底鉱物資源の探査およびその生成と海洋環境との関連について最新成果を交えて学ぶこと、(2) 関連する英語文献を自ら検索し、講読することで、学んだ内容の理解を深めること、(3) 講義および文献講読で理解した内容を発表することで、研究成果をまとめて他者に伝える力を養うことである。

授業の方法
For each session, students will work in groups to identify and read literature related to the lecture topic (limited to English-language articles published in peer-reviewed international journals). Each group will then give a presentation of approximately 10 minutes, summarizing the selected paper(s) and explaining how they relate to the lecture content. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
各回について，講義内容に関連する文献 (査読付き国際学術誌に掲載された英語論文に限る) をグループワークで調査・講読し，選定した文献の内容およびそれらが講義内容とどのように関連するかを，各班10分程度でプレゼンテーションする．また，その内容に対して質疑応答を行う．
成績評価方法
Students will be evaluated based on their attendance, presentation content, and participation in the Q&A session.
出席とプレゼンテーション内容，および質疑応答への参加状況により総合的に評価する．
履修上の注意
事前学習は特段必要としないが，授業後は配布資料やノートを基によく復習し，課題の参考とすること．

Lectures are based on face-to-face teaching. (If they are held online for some reason, this will be posted on UTOL by the day before, so please check carefully before each lecture)
