This course is designed to assist in understanding many of the sophisticated subjects and concepts in engineering fracture mechanics, wave propagation and general continuum mechanics with particular emphasis on dynamics of solids.

The course starts from the very basic relationships in fracture mechanics and wave propagation and, by covering increasingly more complex physical processes, it proceeds to discuss recent research results in the relevant topics. The course stresses on analytical, experimental and numerical aspects of fracture mechanics and wave dynamics.
