サステナビリティ設計論

As global discussions advance around initiatives such as the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement, which aims to address climate change, the manufacturing sector is increasingly expected not only to provide high-performance and affordable products but also to develop new approaches to manufacturing that contribute to sustainability.

This course provides an overview of Sustainability Design, an interdisciplinary field that enables a comprehensive and multifaceted understanding of manufacturing for sustainability. The objective is to equip students with the fundamental perspectives and knowledge necessary for envisioning and developing future manufacturing systems.

Through case studies, students will deepen their understanding of topics such as the design of products and services that balance environmental and economic performance, as well as the design of sustainable business models. To foster practical competence in applying the methods and tools introduced in lectures, the course combines classroom instruction with exercises and group-work activities.
