Advances in computational science are becoming more and more important. Although the capacity of computer systems is improving rapidly, there is very little education in the development of computational science (simulation) software. HPC education based on computer engineering is indispensable for building high-speed software, and training for team development by multiple people is indispensable for software development. It is important to have a technology that balances programming that is easy to maintain and has high portability and expandability, and programming that achieves performance. In this exercise, we will practice the design and programming of simulation software.

https://utelecon.adm.u-tokyo.ac.jp/***** In this exercise, lectures on software engineering and computer engineering and full-scale simulation software design and programming training by team system will be conducted. 1. Guidance 2. HPC Basics 3. Basic Exercise 4. Maintainable Software Design / Implementation 5. CFD / MD Simulations 6. Project Planning, Method Setting 7. Applied Exercises 8. Achievement Presentation The first guidance session will be held in the Engineering 231 Lecture Room in the Bldg. 2 of the Faculty of Engineering, and after that, the large seminar room 2 on the 1st floor of the Main Building of the Center for Information Infrastructure will be used. The first session will include guidance, application for a supercomputer account, registration for Slack, etc., and a special lecture on the role of simulation in a company. From the second session, information exchange related to the class will be shifted to Slack et.al. Those who were unable to apply for a supercomputer account in the first session should contact Sato (*****, ***** @). This lecture requires an account for an educational computer system. Take the system class and get an account. https://utelecon.adm.u-tokyo.ac.jp/*****

Basically, the evaluation is based on attendance points, basic / applied exercise results and products.
https://utelecon.adm.u-tokyo.ac.jp/***** This lecture emphasizes practical exercises. Therefore, in principle, it is desirable to have some programming experience in a computer language, and a mathematical understanding of physical equations is required. The simulation method to be specifically developed is a parallel CFD program by the ABMAC method of a two-dimensional incompressible fluid or a region division parallel MD program by vdW force. Students who wish to take the course must have an account for the computer system for education. Students who do not have an account should attend the system training course and obtain an account before the start of the exercise. https://utelecon.adm.u-tokyo.ac.jp/*****
