観測天文学特別講義Ⅵ
Exoplanets in 2024
Students will learn how astronomers find exoplanets and measure their properties. After surveying the currently known population of exoplanets, we will examine several especially interesting objects in depth.

授業計画
2 class meetings per week for 8 weeks. Each class 1.5-2 hours.
授業の方法
In-person lecture plus interactive exercises. Students will use laptops or phones in class to gather information relevant to each day topic.
成績評価方法
30% in-class quizzes and discussion
40% homework assignments
30% final project: a poster
教科書
No textbook; instructor will provide all materials.
参考書
We will read a number of recent journal articles, which the instructor will provide.
履修上の注意
Students must attend class meetings in order to complete in-class assignments. There will be three homework assignments, one every two weeks. No special preparation is necessary, though scanning arXiv for new papers would be a good idea.
