光赤外線天文学特論V

This course includes the basics for Optical-Infrared Astronomy. How to carry out observations using optical-infrared telescopes and instruments is the key of the first half of the course. Various telescopes, their mechanical and optical designs are shown. Imagers and Spectrographs are shown with key components such as sensors, filters, gratings, etc. How to carry out photometry and spectroscopy are also introduced. Some of the world leading instruments are also introduced.
The second half is on astronomical targets, focusing on extra-galactic objects. Basic properties of galaxies are shown with stars, clusters, and nebulae. Properties of transients such as supernovae, neutron star mergers, and also variable sources such as AGNs and pulsars are shown. Basic knowledge on observational cosmology is also introduced, including how to measure distance and also expansion of the universe. Major questions in Astrophysics, dark energy and dark matter are also introduced.

授業の方法
Face-to-face lecture style is the default. Slides will be uploaded on ITC-LMS in advance to the class.
成績評価方法
Grades are evaluated based on reports, about three times during the course. Number of attendance to the class is also evaluated.

履修上の注意
Basic knowledge on physics and mathematics (undergraduate level) is necessary. Language used is English.
