半導体
半導体
Semiconductors
On the one hand, semiconductors are like a universe, in which various physical phenomena appears just like a kaleidoscope, and on the other hand, they have been at the center of applicational research for more than 70 years as the "rice" of industry. In this lecture, we will systematically explain the basic knowledge accumulated so far, which is indispensable for exploring the semiconductors and for its practical application.
The characteristics of semiconductors are often expressed by the term "structure sensitive". The term has been referred to the drastic change in physical properties due to chemical doping, but in modern semiconductor physics, this expression also means that new phenomena and functions appear due to the combination of spatial structures and heterogeneous substances. The lecture is organized so that you can get an overview of the modern semiconductor physics.
