Normative Basis of Global Society
Philosophy of Psychology
This course surveys recent work in philosophy and psychology which highlights and discusses ways in which human psychology is imperfect. Naturally, humans fall short of many ideals: we are not always rational; there are gaps in our self-knowledge; there are limitations to how freely we act, and how ethically. It is important to try to understand not only that we are limited creatures, but also where we are limited and why.

授業計画
We will read a recent textbook at the rate of a chapter every week or two.
授業の方法
The class will be discussion based, with occasional mini-lectures. Students will be expected to read the relevant material and respond to it before class in order to be prepared for discussion.
成績評価方法
Class participation and a final essay.
