Transportation Engineering
The purpose of the course is to introduce fundamentals on road traffic flow science and traffic engineering including traffic flow fundamentals, queuing theory, highway capacity and geometric design, intersection control, network analysis and traffic simulation, and Intelligent Transport Systems and automated driving system.
This course is jointly offered with Dept. of Civil Engineering, and offered in English to share the discussion with foreign as well as Japanese students.

Offered in English at As301/302 of IIS in Komaba-II Research campus (open in 30 min. later 15:25-17:10 for transport from Hongo-campus) Lectures will start on Nov. 19, 2018. No lectures planned on Nov. 26, Dec. 13, and Jan. 14 because of instructor's duty, and supplementary lecture will be held on Jan. 21.

The derived knowledge in the course will be applied for the design of various queuing system (such as highway toll gates, bank counters, registers in supermarkets, and so forth), transportation infrastructure system design, highway geometric design, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) design, and evaluation of environmental impact of road transportation systems.
