Before deciding to take the course, read the following article and make sure this kind of topic interests you: Victoria S. Reed, "American Museums and Colonial-Era Provenance: A Proposal" International Journal of Cultural Property (2023), 30: 1–21. doi:10.1017/S*****000036
This will be an online class. The first day of class is orientation and will take place on April 9 at 1300. Note that there will be a number of weeks when there will be no classes, and you will be asked to visit museums on your own. To make up for the lack of sessions, there will be in-person sessions held at the end of the semester (the date will be discussed in class). For museum visits, the students are expected to go in groups and bear the cost of transportation and admission fees.
Although the class content is similar to the previous year's, students who wish to repeat the class may do so, provided they will be going to different museums on their own.
